What do you charge?
$125 for an online 50 minute session.
Do I still get charged, if I do not show up for my session?
Yes, you pay when you book your session online.
Where are you licensed?
Licensed in Maryland and Virginia, but can also see people located in one of the more than 40 PsyPact states.
(See this map: psypact.gov/page/psypactmap.) You must be physically located in one of those states at the time of your session.






What is your style of therapy?
Mainly cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
Can I sign up for just one session?
Yes.
Can I continue sessions?
Yes you can book another session on your own time.
Do you take insurance?
If you want more traditional insurance covered mental health services visit https://hpava.com/ where myself and our team offer insurance covered online therapy and in-person assessment services
Do you prescribe medication?
Psychologists do not prescribe medications. We can talk about mental health medication to help you talk to your primary care doctor
Do you write letters (e.g. for work disability, for emotional support animals):
Yes psychologists can legally sign many types of letters and forms, however you will likely need to come to more than one session to manage this process​​

Is what I tell a psychologist completely confidential?
Yes - with some very specific exceptions which will be outlined right at the beginning of the session so you are fully informed

About Me
Dr. Jacob Hadwen is a licensed clinical psychologist. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from George Washington University in Washington D.C.. He has worked in government, hospitals, community mental health, schools and private practice.
Dr. Hadwen believes that mental health services need to become more flexible and approachable including shorter term services.
